HIKING

Lefkada is the ideal choice for hikers, offering an abundance of trails into the inland part of the island. There are many unique routes for hiking for different difficulty levels. Our recommendation is hike to Nydri Waterfalls, where you can take a swim among lush scenery. While little water flows down the rock and into the pool, the height of the falls and the scenery surrounding it create an ethereal atmosphere complete with wildflowers and thick foliage. There are walking trails around the area, and the natural springs and rich greenery will revitalize you.

VISIT LEFKADA TOWN

Lefkada Town is the main town and northernmost settlement on the island. It is located at the end of the causeway from the mainland. After the town’s destruction by earthquakes in the 1940s and 50s, many of the buildings were restored or built anew, and yet they retained the charm and atmospheric feel of the old architecture. Some of the structures that survived include the 17th-century church, Agios Spyridon, located in the main square of the same name. Also don’t miss the opportunity to take a walk on the seaside promenade, a colorful street full of shops, tavernas and bars, which leads to the iconic wooden bridge of Lefkada town!
